MIHAI VASILE

Born in 1951.

He makes his debut even since adolescence in the fields of poetry and graphic arts, but also in the field of theatre, being irresistibly drawn to the art of the actor and to stage management.

In 1980, at the autumnal equinox, he and few other young intellectuals found the Equinox Theatre, as a space of interference of many arts: theatre, dance, film, visual arts, music.

            During more than two decades of ceaseless activity he staged over 150 performances: theatre, dance, theatre of gesture, theatre of image, he produced short films (poems and cinematigraphic essays, documentarys).

He is reader at the Prahova Centre of Tradition and Creation (head of the Departement of Theatre and Visual Arts).

He is  a teacher of dramatic cinematographic arts at the School of Arts in Ploiesti.

He held many workshops in the field of the theatre of poetry and of the theatre of mythology in Romania, France, Bulgaria.

He was awarted, for his activity as a stage manager and for some of his plays, in Romania and abroad.

His publicistic activity is notable: essays and research works in the fields of theatrical anthropology, of mythology and tradition, works on theatre and visual arts in general,chief editor of the cultural magazine „ateLier 21”

He attended an intesive training course (Cultural Development and Cultural Project Administration), in France (1997).
