Berat city lies in the south - central part of Albania.

Berat city is one of the oldest and the most beautiful city of Albania and is 2400 years old. It is called “The city of the 1000 windows”. The most important places worth to be seen in Berat are:The Castle of Berat and the Fortress of Berat, the bridge over the River Osum - built in 1778 during the Turkish reign, “Our Lady’s Church”, a beautiful church with the walls full of frescos, painted by Onufri and his son Nicola.
