The Notary Public Chamber is a professional organization of public utility, with judicial personality, being the representative unit of the notary public at territorial level. It functions within the Court of Appeal Ploiesti, gathering all the public notary which act in Prahova and Dambovita districts. The notary public Chamber was established at July 22nd, 1995 by the 32 existing notary public, set up in general meeting, who elected their president and the managerial team.

This institution appeared in Ploiesti in 1864 and had its headquarters within the Court of Law. In 1951 when the Court of law moved n the present office, the Prosecutor's Office moved in a building on 1 Doftana Street. After 1990 the institution amplified its activity and in the present it builds its own headquarters on Bunavestire Street.
